Steve thinks that Zaida took her sorta first step this weekend! She turned away from the couch and let go and put one foot out and then fell down! So we are close now… And we have another tooth! She wasn't fussy or anything, but when she was drinking from her bottle I just happened to notice there were more white bumps than one tooth should have. So the 2 bottom front teeth are in without a lot of drama from her…we are extremely thankful!!
Just a quick note as I finish up my lunch hour…Zaida has a tooth! When I picked her up from Debbie's on Monday, the announcement was that one of her bottom front teeth had broken skin that day!! We couldn't see it, but we could definately feel it! And this morning we could see it! We were beginning to think she was never going to get teeth, but thankfully now we know she won't always look like a grandpa that forgot to put his teeth in!! So yesterday when I went to pick Zaida up from daycare I heard Debbie (our daycare provider) say to Zaida, "let's show mommy how we can stand up". Debbie brought Zaida out front and center, put her on her feet and let go of her hands. Zaida stood there for a couple of seconds all on her own with a HUGE grin. Then she tipped forward at her waist and put her hands to the ground. But she was so proud of herself when she was standing. We don't know if we should be excited or scared!
We're not so good at keeping our blog updated….in case you couldn't tell!! So, I thought I'd put in a short note to let anyone who is still checking here every once in a while know that we are still living, just busy. We have been keeping our pictures updated though! So if you click on the link to our flickr page or harpers nest photos you will find recent pictures of Zaida!
As a quick update, Zaida is a little monkey! She is getting really good at pulling herself up on everything and tries really hard to get to the top of things! And she has absolutely no fear of falling! YIKES! She will be 8 months old on Monday (and Steve will be 31 on Tuesday!), so I'm sure we will update the pictures again then!
