OK, so it's been a little while since we updated this little site of ours. Sorry about that. Nalaina's been asking me to for several weeks and I just never have. But I am now. Let me give you the short version. (If you want to know more, I guess you'll just have to call or email!)
We're now in the 36th week of the pregnancy and things are going well health-wise. The baby (no, we don't have a name yet) continues to be extremely active, especially in the evening. This, of course, makes Nalaina more than a bit uncomfortable and the baby loves to stick her little foot right into Nalaina's side. Fun times. Nalaina gets heartburn a lot and her food options are becoming pretty limited because of that. Although, since the baby takes up so much room, there's not much space for Nalaina's stomach, so she's not really all that hungry and she doesn't eat very much.
We also started all of our baby classes. Last week we had our hospital tour and I had Daddy Boot Camp. Tonight we have New Baby Care and the next two weeks we have Preparing for Childbirth. Next week we also have Infant Safety & CPR. We are also at the point where we have to go see Dr. Kaminskas once a week now. By the end of all this, we will be very well acquainted with the layout of our hospital.
At our last visit, I asked Dr. Kaminskas what our "drop dead date" was in terms of delivery. She said that the longest she will let Nalaina go is January 24th before inducing, although it would probably be more like the 21st or 22nd. So there you have it. Sometime between now and January 24th, the newest member of the Harper family will make her debut appearance.
Finally, to end this marathon post, we've been blessed to have several baby showers. We had one thrown for us by our friends from our old small group, one by Nalaina's work friends, one by my boss Dan and his wife for our Childrens staff at the church and one by my Early Childhood team for volunteers and families at the church. We are blessed to have so many people who love us and want to support us in this. Going through all the gifts has been a little overwhelming, but fun. (We're a bit behind on the thank you cards, but they're on their way…eventually!) And our little girl has a very well-stocked wardrobe for the first 12-18 months. Here's a picture from one of the showers:

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of pictures from the other ones, since we didn't always remember the camera. But there are a few more if you click on the "Harpers Nest Photos" link on the right side of this page.
So there you have it. That's what's been happening with us. We (meaning "I") will try to do a better of job of keeping you all informed. And, as always, thanks for stopping by!
